DHCP
Setup for Windows 2000
Step
1: In order to configure Windows 2000 for Ethernet at
Columbia you must install and properly configure the correct
protocols.

Click Start Settings
- Network and Dial-up Connections.

Step
2: Right click on Local Area Connection and select Properties.

You are now in the Local Area Connection properties setup
window. (SEE BELOW) Highlight Internet Protocol(TCP/IP),
scroll down if necessary to view the appropriate protocol.

Step
3: Having selected Internet Protocol(TCP/IP), click on
Properties, this will bring up the Internet Protocol(TCP/IP)
Properties window. Select Obtain an IP address automatically,
and Obtain DNS server address automatically. Click OK.

Step
4: Close the Network and Dial Up Connections window by
clicking OK. To activate your changes restart your computer.
