| Step
1: Turn Off Category Icons |
From Eudora's main screen, choose Tools / Options and select Fonts
& Display. Uncheck the "Show category icons" box
and click OK to dismiss the Options window.
| Step
2: Set Fonts and Window Sizes |
Choose Tools / Options again and you'll be taken back to the "Fonts
& Display" settings. In the left-hand panel, you don't
have the advantage of icons, but it is handy to be able to get
to all the options without scrolling. The width and height settings
are for message composition windows. Most users can leave these
at their defaults.

3: Investigate Fonts |
The two screen font buttons control the font face and size used
on the screen, and on headers and footers of messages printed
on your printer. Click the Screen font button. Even if Courier
type looks boring and plain, you may find that using a fixed-pitch
font helps you remember that you are composing messages in plain
text. If you would like to change the font and size Eudora uses,
make the changes here. The appearance of mail you send is not
affected. Click OK to dismiss the window.

4: Complete Fonts & Display |
If you want to change the font Eudora uses for headers and footers
on printed messages, press the button and follow the same procedure
as for the screen font. For an explanation of the remaining settings
on this screen, see the tutorial "Setting up Eudora views."

| Step
5: View Styled Text Options |
Select the Styled Text category. Eudora Light sends only plain-text
messages. This means none of the listed attributes are available
on outgoing messages. But if someone sends you a message with
rich text or HTML coding, Eudora can show it to you as the sender
intended. If you'd rather not see some of the effects; for example,
your monitor has trouble with some colors, you can uncheck the
boxes. Click OK to dismiss the window.
