| Step
1: Visit the Main Eudora Site |
Point your browser to www.eudora.com and notice that the Eudora
mail software is available for free download. This is not the
older, more stable Eudora Light. Instead it is the latest version
4 Eudora download. After some of the issues with Eudora 4.3 are
resolved, this is where you'll go to get the latest free download.
Qualcomm asks you to fill out a questionnaire before downloading,
but most of the selections are optional.

2: Visit the Eudora Light Site |
Now go to www.eudoralight.com or www.eudora.com/eudoralight and
notice that the web site still encourages the user to download
the latest Eudora mail. Scroll down to the "archive page"
link and click it.

| Step
3: Click the Download Link |
Even at the archive page, there are lots of big links at the top
of the page to encourage you to download the latest Eudora mail.
Ignore these and scroll down to the appropriate archive link for
your system. For most users it will be Eudora Light 3.0.6 for
Windows.

| Step
4: Fill Out the Answers |
The questionnaire for Eudora Light has more required fields than
the latest Eudora, which only requires your email address. At
least they promise never to give the information to any third
party. Fill in the answers and click the Download button.

5: Choose a Save Location |
When your browser asks, choose a download location. This is not
the final location in "Program Files" or off the C:
root where you will finally install the software. Instead it is
a special directory (folder) which you use to download shareware
and freeware applications. If you don't have a "downloads"
folder, you can create one now. The file is large and will take
time to download. It is a good idea to scan all downloads for
viruses even if they are from trusted sources.
