| Step
1: Start Outlook Express |
Unfortunately, Eudora Light does not have a message import facility.
And Outlook Express will only export to other Microsoft formats,
not to a Eudora mailbox. For this reason, it's recommended that
you keep your Outlook Express messages there, and refer to them
as needed. If you need to import text from an Outlook Express
message, here is a method for doing so. Start Outlook Express,
and read the message whose text you need to import.

2: Start Text File in Eudora |
Start Eudora, and select File / New Text File. Eudora creates
a new empty text box.

| Step
3: Select and Copy Text |
Switch back to the message you're reading in Outlook Express,
and choose Edit / Select All, and press <Ctrl-C> to copy
the text to the Windows clipboard.

4: Paste in Eudora |
Switch back to the Eudora text box, and press <Ctrl-V> to
paste in the text. You may copy any portion of this text from
the Eudora text window by dragging across it and pressing <Ctrl-C>
and use the "Edit / Paste" or "Edit / Paste As
Quotation" options to quote it in your text.

5: Save if Needed |
You can use File / Save to save your text to a file, if you'll
need it later. The mail message reader of Outlook Express has
a File / Save As feature that allows mail messages to be exported
to a text file, and it might seem easier than all this cutting
and pasting. But Eudora cannot open the text files output from
Outlook Express. Someday, Eudora will support a direct import
tool, but bugs are still being worked out of it.
