Set Account Information

Step 1: Get Account Information

Get Account Information

There are computers at your mail provider called an incoming mail server and an outgoing mail server. Each of them has a name that Eudora needs to know. For logging in to receive your mail, you need the user name and password of the email account. Before starting Eudora, get the two server names, your email user name and password. Your mail provider (usually your Internet Service Provider) can get this information for you.

Step 2: Start Eudora

Start Eudora

Select Start, Programs, Eudora Light, Eudora Light. A screen will appear asking if you want to make Eudora your default email client. Unless you plan to use other email programs, choose Yes here.

Step 3: Enter Account Information

Enter Account Information

If Eudora does not start the setup screen automatically, select Tools / Options. Now scroll up to the top of the Category list, and select Getting Started. Enter your email address in both the POP account and Return address fields, and your name in the Real name field.

Step 4: Enter Hosts Information

Enter Hosts Information

Click the Hosts category. The POP account should be as you entered it before. Enter the name of your outgoing mail server in the SMTP field. Click OK to dismiss the options selection.
