| Step
1: Using Send on Check |
The action of downloading new mail messages (checking) is a separate
activity from sending outgoing messages (sending). However, in
Microsoft, mail programs always have combined send and receive
activities.

2: Disabling Send on Check |
Eudora gives the user a choice. Sending and checking mail can
be done as a single operation by enabling the "send on check"
option, or separately, by disabling it. Some email providers require
mailboxes to be checked shortly before mail can be sent through
them. "Send on check" must be disabled for these accounts.
And there may be other reasons why you want to separate the two
functions.
