1: Look at Available Keys |
It is sometimes convenient to look at messages in order of sender
or subject rather than date received. Also, moving messages between
mailboxes can put them out of order, so you may have to re-sort
them after moving them. At the main screen of Eudora, looking
at the message list for the In box, select Edit / Sort and notice
how many fields can be used as sort keys. Choose Sender.

2: Look at Sorted Messages |
Eudora quickly returns you to the In box listing, but this time
the mail messages are in order of sender. Notice that a strict
alphabetical listing by last name, first name, is not possible
because the sort is done on whatever name the sending mail utility
put into the name field. But it helps when you're trying to locate
a message from a certain person, by grouping each sender's messages
together.

3: Sort Again |
Select Edit / Sort and this time select Subject. Eudora places
the mail messages in subject order. If you have exchanged a lot
of email with someone in the same conversation, and you're looking
for a particular message, sorting the messages by subject can
save you from a lot of paging up and down, by grouping the whole
conversation together.

4: Return to Date Order |
Select Edit / Sort / Date. Eudora places the messages in order
of date and time sent. Most people prefer to keep this order most
of the time, since Eudora will place new messages at the end of
the list.
