| Step
1: Check Account Information |
|
|
|
In the main screen of Eudora, select Tools / Options / Checking
Mail. On Checking Mail options, the POP account should be your
email address.

2: Set Scheduled Check |
|
|
|
If you have a dedicated Internet connection (not dialup), you
can check the "Check for mail." box, within a number
of minutes, and your mail will be checked automatically. You could
do this with a dialup connection, but it may be inconvenient.
If you get an email so large you have trouble downloading it,
the "skip" option is one way of dealing with it until
you get your email provider to delete it from the server.

3: Set Disposition |
|
|
|
Check the "save password" box so Eudora will only ask
you once for your mailbox password. Now look at the "leave
mail on server" setting. Most users want mail messages removed
from the incoming mail server after they're downloaded. In this
case, unselect the "leave mail" box and enable "delete
from server after 1 day(s)" so Eudora will delete your incoming
mail properly.

4: Set Remaining Settings |
|
|
|
The other three settings can be left at their defaults for most
users. The "determine first unread" option is an advanced
setting to avoid duplicate messages. The last "delete from
server" box should not be necessary, since you're deleting
from the server after messages are downloaded. And the password
method is what most ISPs use for logging in to a mailbox. Press
OK to dismiss the settings window.
