WebMail: Setting Au-NetMail Options
To adjusting settings for Web Mail and your Au Web Mail Account, click the Options button on the top toolbar of the main Au Web Mail window. Au NetMail Options are divided into four categories. Some Au Web Mail options affect your usage of Au Web Mail, others affect your Au Web Mail account regardless of which mail client you use.

General Options

Change your Password - This area allows you to change your password. To avoid being prompted for this in the future change it regularly. Your password must be a minimum of 6 characters (numbers and letters), if this criteria is not met, the system will report an error and you will have to change your password again.

Web Mail Settings

Timeout - This option specifies the number of minutes of inactivity required before you are automatically logged out of WebAccess. This is useful for security, for example, if you accidentally left yourself logged into Web Mail from a public workstation. However, be careful not to set the Timeout value too low, otherwise you will be timed out of Web Mail while composing long messages.

Reply To
- Allows you to specify an alternate e-mail address to which you'd like users to address replies to your messages. If you enter an e-mail address in this box, then messages will be directed there when a recipient of one of your messages clicks Reply in their mail program.

Default Charset - You may need to change this if you are corresponding internationally. This setting should be left at the default of UTF-8, unless you have a specific reason to change it.

Language - Allows you to change the language in which WebAccess is displayed.

Select Template - The appearance of WebAccess is governed by templates which have been installed on the NIMS server and made available by the NIMS administrator. The default WebAccess template is the only appearance currently offered on Assumption University's NIMS system.

Messages per Page - Allows you to specify the number of messages that should be displayed on one page of the item list when viewing e-mail folders.

Public LDAP Server - Specifies the name of a public directory server from which to do LDAP searches. If you wish to have the ability to search a public directory when using Web Mail, consult their web site for the name of a publicly accessible LDAP server and enter that name here.

Privacy
- Controls how much of your personal information will be revealed to other Au Web Mail users searching the system-wide address book. The available options are:

None: All Web Mail users will have access to your first and last name, email address, and phone number if this information is available.

Limited
: All Web Mail users will have access only to your email address.

Unlisted
: None of your personal information will be available.
