Configuration: Proxy Settings

Mail Proxy is a powerful feature of Au WebMail that can be used to collect e-mail from other POP or IMAP e-mail accounts which you have with other institutions or Internet Service Providers. Every three hours, the server collects e-mail from accounts specified in users' proxy settings and delivers messages to users' Inboxes.

Since the Mail Proxy process runs automatically on the server every three hours, it does not depend on any specific mail client, and will work regardless of whether you use Web Mail or some other client to access your mail. Additionally, any filtering Rules which you have defined will also be applied to mail collected by the mail proxy.

You may specify up to three POP3 or IMAP mail accounts to collect mail from. Specify the host name or the remote e-mail server, your Username, and your password twice. You will also need to indicate if the remote e-mail server is a POP3 server or an IMAP server. This information can be obtained from the Internet Service Provider or institution hosting your mail account. Check Leave on Server if you do not want Au Web Mail Proxy to delete messages from the remote e-mail account after it has retrieved them.

Click Save when you have completed adjusting your proxy settings.
